Directions to the Memorial Day Ceremonies at the Flanders Field Cemetery

The World War I Flanders Field American Cemetery and Memorial lies on the southeast edge of the town of Waregem, Belgium, along the Lille-Gent AutoRoute E-17. The cemetery is within 30 miles of Brugge and Gent. Waregem is reached by train from Brussels via Gent in approximately one hour. Taxi service is available from the station in Waregem.

If you are traveling by car from Brussels, take the E-40 in the direction of Gent. Then take the E-17 south in the direction of Kortrijk. Take the exit for Waregem. At the top of the exit ramp, turn left. Cross over the E17 and at the very next intersection turn left. (There is a small sign indicating the direction of the cemetery.) The street passes through a small industrial zone, and arrives at the entrance to the cemetery.
