Mission Statement of the American Overseas Memorial Day Association in Belgium

The mission of the American Overseas Memorial Day Association in Belgium (AOMDA) is to prepetuate remembrance of the American servicemen and servicewomen who died in defense of freedom, especially those who are interred in Belgium in the Ardennes, Henri-Chapelle, and Flanders Field Cemeteries.

The mission will be accomplished in three ways :

• generating maximum attendance at Memorial Day ceremonies including in particular Belgians and Americans,
  
• assuring that the Memorial Day ceremonies are performed in accordance with the highest standards of decorum and tradition, and
  
• soliciting individual and corporate donations in support of the organizational aspects of the Memorial Day ceremonies.
  

AOMDA may undertake such other actions as may be useful or necessary to accomplish its mission.
